In a recent event, it was seen that the bunch of conspirators have published a malign article in the name of Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. The incident took place just after the merger between BancABC and FBZ was successful. As per the claim made by the conspirators Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s name is linked to the Panama Papers through Finsbury Investments. In addition, they have also shown an image of Dr. Mahtani walking with a briefcase in his hand stating that he looked tensed and had visited his lawyer for the connected issue.

Upon investigation, it was learnt that the whole scenario was nothing more than a planned attack on the character of Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. The name of Finsbury Investments was present in the Panama Papers, but the organization belonged to some other people. To be precise, the mentioned owners were- Semely Conseil & Gestion SA. Other factors that separate this organization from PCZ’s Finsbury Investment is the date of operation. It has been clearly mentioned in the document that the name of the company was struck off in August 1999.

Regardless of the above mentioned facts, the conspirators have blindly put the blame on Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani and have tried to blame him for lame reasons. The incident clearly marks that the defamation campaign is not yet over. Even though the Finance Bank is no longer there, the conspirators will continue to try and attack entities that are connected to him. During the past few years, it has become a habit of the conspirators to indulge in such shameless activities. Needless to say, the Government has not done anything to stop this nuisance. Common men and innocent citizens continue to suffer, but there is hardly any effort to curb this defamation. Witnessing this carnage, it has become difficult to ascertain the end of corruption in Zambia.
