Whether it is an individual or an entity, reputation is an important part for long term survival. If there is a question on the reputation, people start to lose trust and quickly the entity or individual is forgotten by all. Even if that individual or entity is wrongly accused, a reputation once lost is not gained back easily. However, the best way to gain back lost reputation is to ensure that people know the truth as soon as possible. The recent verdict by Supreme Court Zambia turned out to be life saver for the bank.
The bank had been quickly losing its reputation as a result of the constant attacks by Simaata Simaata, an ex-employer of Finance Bank who turned out to be the biggest conspirator of the bank as well as entire Zambia. Simaata had signed an agreement with Finance Bank. It was a non-disclosure agreement signed to protect the confidential statement and terms of the bank. While Simaata was paid well for signing the agreement, he did exactly opposite of what he was not supposed to do. His allegations on Finance bank made at courts created negative reputation for the bank. Even though the Finance bank is known among the most respected and reputable banks across Zambia, any kind of negative news is bad for bank that operate in a sophisticated industry. The bank started losing important clients and customers and the long-term viability and business of the bank became a question. To help the bank recover, Rajan Mahtani and Finance bank together launched a case at the Supreme Court Zambia against Simaata.
The case was launched by Finance Bank with full evident support. Also, the lawyers from the bank’s side made it very clear how the activities of Simaata were violated of agreement and caused loss of revenue and reputation for the bank. The case by Simaata had no evidence or factual data to support and thereby, the case was won by Finance Bank Zambia.
